Ah Stevi Ritchie. He turned up to his first audition and could barely remember the words to Olly Murs’ Dance With Me Tonight. But he sang what he did know with such gusto, such uninhibited joy. What could the judges do but give him a shot at Wembley Arena?
And boy oh boy did Stevi enjoy Wembley Arena. Off came the jacket and out came the moves as Stevi outdid himself with this performance of Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now.
And the judges didn’t want to stop him, with Cowell giving Stevi a seat at Boot Camp. He actually whipped up a member of the crowd to dance with him while he performed Dirty Dancing track I’ve Had The Time Of My Life. It’s Stevi. Of course he did.
Onto Judges’ Houses, we thought the journey might be over. But oh, no. Stevi rocked out his version of The Monkee’s I’m A Believer and softie Cowell just couldn’t send him on his merry way. Live shows beckoned…
And so – against the odds – Stevi has made it through and appears to be having the absolute time of his life, even bagging himself a man-date with Simon Cowell at the Harvester as their bromance grows.
Stevi’s spent a fair amount of his time surrounded by beautiful female dancers, but we have to show off his Halloween performance from last week. This guy just gives it his all, doesn’t he?
Stevi will be back to performing Queen this weekend and will (of course) be singing Bohemian Rhapsody. We expected nothing less.
The X Factor continues Saturday and Sunday at 8:00pm on ITV
