The Osbournes is coming back for a new series

13 years after the reality show's first episode aired on MTV, Ozzy wants to document where the family is now

Forget the Kardashians, it was the Osbournes who first stunned and entertained us in 2002 as cameras documented the eccentric, chaotic goings-on inside their huge, animal-filled family home.

And now they’re coming back for a new series of their MTV reality show.

Announcing the news on ITV’s Loose Women, Sharon said that Ozzy wants to document their lives now that he is sober.

“Ozzy’s decided he wants to do another few episodes, about eight, of The Osbournes. It’s been 13 years since we first did it. He said for the three years we did he was drunk the whole time and he’d like to be sober.”

It seems the Black Sabbath vocalist has had a change of heart after telling NME magazine in 2010 that letting cameras into the house and revitalising his global fame put his family under huge pressure.

“On the one hand it was phenomenal, on the other hand I had to watch my family [suffer]. But we invented a new form of television. We started the ball rolling for all these f***ing new shows now. Would we do it again? I dunno. I don’t think so.”

The show will begin filming in January and it’ll be just one series. Sharon, a former X Factor judge said, “It’s not forever, no more than eight episodes. It’s a kind of catch-up, what they’re doing now.”

Ozzy and Sharon’s children Kelly (30) and Jack (29), who played a big role in the original programme which ran until 2005, will “come in and out” of the new series.

Even though it’s been eight years since they were last on our screens, we suspect we’ll continue to see some pretty unusual sights in the Osbourne household…
