Stereo Kicks’ performance interrupted by rogue audience member

Security forced to remove "impostor" from the X Factor stage during the boy band's performance

During tonight’s show an “impostor” invaded the X Factor stage during Stereo Kicks’ performance.

Mid-way through their vocal an audience member (who was later revealed to be comedian Lee Nelson) ran onto the stage and had to be removed by a security guard.

Simon Cowell joked that while Louis Walsh had wanted the band to be a five-piece, they’d almost ended up a nine-piece with the rogue extra.

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini didn’t seem to have a clue what was going on, with Mel B joking the I Don’t Care singer had thought it was Mark Owen from Take That that had run on.

But Cheryl did commend the boys for being able to hand the shock event.

“I don’t know how I would have dealt with that, to remain the focus, I have to say congratulations for that.”

Cowell added, “These things happen on live TV. The important thing is you bounced back from last week.”

Mentor Louis Walsh laughed, “Everyone wants to be in this band now!”

The boys seemed rather cool about it, saying they’re just focused on what they’re doing, as they showed off new hair ‘dos and some stunning vocals.

At least the stage invader wasn’t throwing eggs like on Britain’s Got Talent, eh Cowell?
