Toy Story 4 is officially happening but Twitter is worried

Disney Pixar have announced plans to release another Toy Story film in 2017 - but there are fears the team can't possibly top the tear-jerking end to their trilogy...

You guys, it’s really happening. Woody, Buzz and co will be back in cinemas in 2017 as Disney Pixar announce plans to release Toy Story 4. John Lasseter – director of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 – is back on board, as the team “open a new chapter” in the lives of the gang of toys. IT’S BIG NEWS.

But with a franchise so beloved comes both excitement and trepidation – how could any new film match the tear-jerking ending to Toy Story 3? Twitter is a little anxious… 

Some are already psyching themselves up for the inevitable sob-fest: 

There is – of course – plenty of excitement.

But, Twitter being Twitter, cynicism is abounding… 

Although Toy Story’s good run of form has inspired confidence in some tweeters. 

Especially with Parks and Recreation’s Rashida Jones and her writer partner Will McCormack on board: 

If Disney doesn’t already have all the plot details ironed out, maybe they could take inspiration from some of these ideas?
