Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man: first look

Documentary footage allows us a glimpse of Marvel's size-changing superhero

Superhero flick Ant-Man is coming pretty soon (17th of July 2015 to be precise), but up until now we’ve seen little to nothing of the Paul Rudd-led Marvel movie.

While there’s still no trailer or even a poster, new behind-the-scenes footage from an American documentary gives us our first real look at what the film will be like.

Appearing as part of Marvel: 75 Years, From Pulp to Pop! on US network ABC last night, the footage shows Rudd (who plays master thief turned hero Scott Lang) in a lab with co-star Michael Douglas (who plays Lang’s mentor Hank Pym), as well as the scene where Lang apparently first encounters the size-changing suit that makes him Ant-Man.

The clip also included moments from next year’s superhero sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron including a Captain America (Chris Evans) stunt and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) apparently flipping some cars.

In the left-hand corner of the above shot we also caught a glimpse of what may have been Paul Bettany’s mysterious android character The Vision, who is confirmed to appear in the film but has not been seen in promotional material as yet. It could just be a coincidence, but the green, yellow and red colouring certainly matches the character’s appearance in the comics.
