New Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies trailer teases massive, massive fight

Martin Freeman and Richard Armitage are ready for the end of the trilogy

We knew the final film in the Hobbit trilogy would end with an epic 45 minute battle. After all, it’s called the Battle of the Five Armies. But nothing could prepare you for the sheer scale of the fight teased in this latest trailer.

Yet there’s still space for quiet moments among all the massing hordes and bats (yes, bats). Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) and Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) are in glowering form, as power goes to the Dwarf king’s head. On the other side, Smaug (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Saruman (Christopher Lee) prepare to sweep away the good guys, ahead of the arrival of Sauron (the big eye from the Lord of the Rings). Essentially, if your name starts with S, you’re evil.

The Hobbit: Battle Of The Five Armies is out in UK cinemas on Friday 12th December.
