Halloween is certainly scary for this year’s remaining eleven X Factor acts as Simon Cowell reveals one act will leave on Saturday night as well as another on Sunday.
The judge and mentor pulled the acts into a meeting to tell them that the person with the lowest public vote on Saturday will leave, simple as that. No sing-off.
Then on Sunday, the two acts with the lowest votes will battle it out with one final performance before another act is sent home.
This third double elimination means that both Louis Walsh and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, with only two acts left each, could potentially both lose all of them. Simon is the only mentor currently with all of his acts intact, while Mel B has only one singer out.
Cowell told the contestants the reasoning behind the new twist was that they all needed a wake up call.
“You put out a rubbish record it doesn’t chart. If you do a rubbish performance on the night, you’re out.”
Although his firm words did come with a compliment.
“This isn’t a gimmick, because I actually can look at each and every one of you and look you in the eye and say, you are all genuinely all capable of winning this competition, every single one of you. I’ve never been in this situation before, it’s the closest we’ve ever been. From here on in, I wouldn’t put a bet on who’s going to win, and it’s all on you now.”
