Vicky Pattison quits Geordie Shore: “the show hasn’t grown up but I have”

Newcastle's raucous reality show bids farewell to one of its original cast members after nine series...

Vicky Pattison has quit Geordie Shore. One of the original housemates on the MTV reality show, Pattison has entertained viewers with her raucous partying and late-night antics for the last nine series but says she’s “moved on” from the house’s hedonistic ways.

In a video recorded for MTV, the 26-year-old said: “The show has been going for a long time, and I’ve been fortunate to be part of it from the start, but it’s changed. Everything that everyone else is happy with doing and still enjoys, I just don’t. I’m in a completely different place. I don’t feel angry about it, or upset – I’m pleased I’ve moved on, and I’m pleased they’re all still enjoying themselves, but it just didn’t work anymore.”

Vicky’s final season on Geordie Shore begins tonight at 10pm on MTV, with plans already afoot for a tenth series featuring her former housemates Gary “Gaz” Beadle, Charlotte Crosby, Holly Hagan, James Tindale and more.

Originally devised from American format Jersey Shore, the reality series has found a cult following in the last four years, filming under the bright lights of Newcastle as well as travelling to Magaluf, Cancún, Sydney and more.

Pattison says it’s unlikely she’ll make a reappearance on the show, but hinted she would be interested in a stint in the Aussie jungle for ITV’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

“I would like to pop up in the jungle,” she said. “I think I’d have no problems after my experience on Geordie Shore and all the sort of creepy crawlies I’ve encountered doing this. Putting a kangaroo ball in my mouth – that just would not bother me in the slightest. I think I’ve probably had worse in my mouth. So yeah, I’m a Celebrity – get me in there!”
