Less than a month after Nancy was crowned queen of cakes by Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry, The Great British Bake Off is on the hunt for the next baking champion.
Applications are now open for series six of The Great British Bake Off, meaning anyone who thinks they have the skills to impress Paul and Mary and the flavours to seduce Mel and Sue should download the application form now.
The form itself is a monster, requiring wannabe candidates to assess their skills in everything from pies to pastries, as well as send in photos of recent bakes.
The show’s producers also want to know about your baking experience: signature bakes, kitchen disasters and family memories are all covered.

Only amateur bakers can apply of course: anyone who has worked “full time as a baker, cook or chef” cannot take part in the show, and neither can people who have “any catering NVQ or other professional catering qualifications unless acquired over 10 years ago.”
13 million viewers tuned in to watch this year’s final of The Great British Bake Off at the beginning of October, which saw Nancy Birtwhistle beat Richard Burr and Luis Troyano.

The closing date for applications is midnight on Sunday 11th January 2015, and successful applicants will find out by 13th February.
Filming is expected to take place between March and June next year.
