Here’s how the new cast of Dad’s Army look on set

Don't panic! Catherine Zeta-Jones, Bill Nighy, Michael Gambon and more are on location in Yorkshire and here's what we can expect

Filming on the upcoming Dad’s Army film is well underway, with Universal sharing pictures of the new cast direct from Yorkshire.

This re-make of Jimmy Perry and David Croft’s iconic British comedy will follow the Home Guard in 1944 as they ready themselves to invade France at the height of World War II.

Michael Gambon, Bill Nighy Toby Jones and Tom Courtenay are among the cast taking on the iconic roles of Captain Mainwaring, Corporal Jones and Pike. Catherine Zeta-Jones can be seen arriving as the sassy (and rather distracting) journalist Rose Winters.

The original series aired on the BBC from 1967 to 1977, with 18 million viewers regularly tuning in.

Sherlock co-creator Mark Gatiss is also lined-up to star alongside Happy Valley’s Sarah Lancashire and Gavin and Stacey’s Alison Steadman.
