Is your nose twitching? Bewitched is coming back.

Us network NBC has commissioned a pilot for a reboot of the supernatural sitcom – the story of married couple Samantha, a witch, and Darrin, a mortal.

The new show will be a reimagining of the classic series two generations on, Deadline reports. ABC aired the original from 1964 to 1972 and was reportedly beaten in the bidding war for the new show.

Samantha was originally played Elizabeth Montgomery and Darrin was played by first Dick York and later Dick Sargent, but no casting details have been revealed for the remake.

What we do know is that writers Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein, who wrote 2012 rom-com The Vow starring Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams, are to pen the screenplay.

A Bewitched film was made in 2005, starring Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell but it was negatively received by critics.

We’re hoping the TV series will cast a better spell…
