X Factor 2014: Behind the scenes at the bumper Boot Camp weekend

The dreaded Six Chair Challenge returns and the stakes are beginning to rise...

The X Factor goes full steam ahead this weekend as we get a Friday night instalment on top of the usual Saturday and Sunday night shows. The competition has reached Boot Camp stage, with contestants in touching distance of a spot on the live shows.

There’s plenty going on, from the judges finding out which category they’ll mentor to who makes it through the dreaded Six Chair Challenge – a new format added last year, which sees contestants given a seat (and a spot at Judges’ Houses) only to be swapped out if someone better comes along.

By why wait until tonight? Ahead of this jam-packed X Factor weekend, get a sneak peek at the action right here…

Here are the contestants arriving

The judges have to cut the numbers down to who they’ll take through to Judges’ Houses

Which means more auditions up on this stage

There’s plenty of rehearsing as they work together on the initial ‘line challenge’, performing a song with other contestants

Plus Kerrianne Covell

Once contestants have made it through the first stage, it’s onto the dreaded Six Chair Challenge.

This means the judges get to find out which category they’ve been given…

These certainly look excited about it
