What do Benedict Cumberbatch fans want out of a poster for The Imitation Game? Piercing eyes, slicked down hair, those cheekbones? If any or all of the above are up your street (and, if not, why not?) then you’ll be pretty chuffed with the latest artwork from the upcoming biopic of Alan Turing.
The Sherlock actor takes centre stage in the stunning new poster, dressed in the Bletchley Park codebreaker’s tweed uniform and staring down anyone who dares glance in his direction.
Printed across his face are the words, “Behind every code is an enigma” – a hint at the struggles of Turing who was prosecuted for homosexual activity in 1952 after solving doing the German’s Enigma Code – a crucial breakthrough in Britain winning the Second World War.
Co-starring with Cumberbatch is Keira Knightley, playing his close friend and one-time fiancé Joan Clarke, opposite a stellar British supporting cast that includes Mark Strong, Charles Dance, Rory Kinnear, Matthew Goode and Allen Leech.
Already bolstered by a string of rave reviews, The Imitation Game is soon to hit cinemas, out in the UK on 14 November.
