Chloe-Jasmine is on her way to Boot Camp as part of this year’s X Factor series. She’s bursting with talent and also has a handy sprinkling of reality show experience up her sleeve, too.
Here, in her first audition of the current series, the 23 year old from Sussex stunned the judges with a rendition of Ella Fitzgerald’s Black Coffee:
Last night, Chloe-Jasmine returned to the show for the Wembley Arena stage of the competition. Her vocals ticked the right boxes with her performance of Peggy Lee’s Why Don’t You Do Right? As did her comedic timing, joking she didn’t have any pets but once had a boyfriend who behaved like one.
But long-standing fans of the show may well know that this isn’t Chloe-Jasmine’s first experience of standing on the X. In fact, in 2006 she auditioned.
At just 16 years old, Chloe-Jasmine tried out for the third series of The X Factor with Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne behind the judging desk. But her version of Killing Me Softly didn’t quite go to plan. “You’re 16, you have no idea who you are yet,” Mrs O told her with Cowell adding, “It’s like you’ve been bred in a laboratory as some music creation. Second of Mariah, second of Christina – none of it came out right.”
The Face 2013
Chloe-Jasmine hasn’t been off of the reality show scene since that first audition, however. She popped up on Sky Living’s modelling competition The Face last year. She certainly kept judges Naomi Campbell and co entertained, seen here slinging her wig (“It’s a nice one, it’s from Harrods”) to one side.
… an airport
Chloe-Jasmine doesn’t even really need a TV show to demonstrate her enviable talents. Here she is singing in Venice Trevisco airport while waiting for a flight, which appears to have been uploaded by a friend who writes, “I knew she would succeed one day.”
Next week we’ll see how Chloe-Jasmine gets on at Boot Camp, with more arena auditions tonight at 8:00pm on ITV
