Antiques Roadshow gets a new opening

The Daimler Dart is no more as the series returns for its 37th series

The Antiques Roadshow returns tonight for series 37 and while your eye may be caught by the appearance of our very own Queen, there’s a change to the opening that you might just notice, too.

The idea of people en route to a Roadshow remains the same, but the Daimler Dart has been replaced by a 1959 Triumph Thunderbird.

Many of the items in the sequence, such as the mannequin in the sidecar, are owned by Antiques Roadshow expert Marc Allum. The locations were shot around Allum’s home in Chippenham, Wiltshire.

The Queen will be talking to valuers about interesting objects from around Hillsborough Castle, the Northern Irish residence that used to be home to her aunt and uncle. Plus, many members of the public find that their wares from boot fairs and skips are worth a lot more than they expected.

See Antiques Roadshow tonight at 8:00pm on BBC1
