Morgan Freeman set to join cast of Ted 2

Ted’s got some legal issues and Freeman looks set to voice the civil rights lawyer that’ll help him out

Morgan Freeman has reportedly signed up to voice a character in the upcoming Ted sequel.

Plot details for Ted 2 are few and far between, but it’s thought Ted will get himself into some legal bother. He’ll need a top civil rights lawyer to help him out. Enter… Morgan Freeman.

Seth MacFarlane is back writing and directing, as well as voicing Ted, and it’s thought he’s the driving force behind the Freeman casting, Variety reports.

In 2012, Ted became the top-grossing original R comedy of all time, taking more than $500 million (£300 million+) at the worldwide box office, stealing the title from The Hangover at $467.4 million (£287.7 million).

Filming on the sequel has already begun in Boston, with Mark Wahlberg among the returning stars. Actress Amanda Seyfried (A Million Ways To Die In The West, Les Mis) has also signed up, with more A-list cameos expected.

Freeman is currently starring in sci-fi action film Lucy alongside Scarlett Johansson.

Ted 2 is expected in cinemas in 2015
