It’s an annual and bitter battle as the two entertainment giants go up against each other in the ratings, vying for viewers sat on their sofas on Saturday and Sunday nights.
But Caroline Flack, who presented The X Factor’s spin-off show The Xtra Factor until earlier this year, isn’t convinced that the shows actually have anything in common, asides from their similar time slots.
“The shows are completely different,” said the 34-year-old star, who has switched from ITV to BBC1 to compete in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing
“I don’t feel like I’m up against the show really because I had three brilliant years on Xtra and it’s my favourite job that I’ve ever done,” she told RadioTimes.com at the Strictly Come Dancing launch earlier this week.
“They are creating two completely different things. So I’m not really thinking of it like that, I’m just thinking of it like this is something completely new. It couldn’t be more different to what I was doing before.”
She might be sequinning-up on Strictly this September, rather than interviewing potential chart-toppers, but Flack tells us she will still be tuning in to Simon Cowell’s show.
Just on catch up. Obviously.
Strictly Come Dancing starts on Sunday at 8:00pm on BBC1
