Big Brother’s Alison Hammond signs up for Strictly Come Dancing 2014

The TV presenter and 2002 Big Brother contestant joins Judy Murray and The Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge in the confirmed line-up

TV presenter Alison Hammond has been confirmed as the third Strictly Come Dancing 2014 contestant.


Hammond, who made her name as a contestant on the third series of Big Brother in 2002, today confirmed the news on ITV’s This Morning where she works as a showbusiness reporter.

She said: “I am absolutely overjoyed to be joining the Strictly team. I am ready to immerse myself in glitter and hard work, with a dash of fun along the way.”

Birmingham born Alison’s TV CV includes appearances on All Star Family Fortunes, Celebrity Coach Trip and the 2010 series of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

The other two confirmed contestants are Andy Murray’s Mum Judy Murray and The Saturdays band member Frankie Bridge.
