Celebrities both in America and the UK have reacted to the death of Robin Williams, aged 63.
The US actor – who was found dead at his Los Angeles home in a suspected suicide – had “been battling severe depression of late”, according to his publicist.
Williams’ wife, Susan Schneider, has also put out a statement, saying, ““This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken.”
US chat show host Ellen DeGeneres, actors Kevin Spacey and Steve Martin and Williams’ recent The Crazy Ones co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar are among those reacting to the news on Twitter.
I can’t believe the news about Robin Williams. He gave so much to so many people. I’m heartbroken.
