Celebrity Big Brother 2014: Who’s going into the house?

From Gary Busey and White Dee to Conchita Wurst and Katie Price's cheating hubby - here are the famous faces rumoured to be setting foot in the CBB house...

Gary Busey

Rumours are flying that Hollywood veteran Gary Busey is packing his bags for a stint in the Celebrity Big Brother house. According to ‘reports’, the actor – best known for starring in Point Break, Predator 2 and Lethal Weapon – has booked a stay across the pond, a natural progression following a career increasingly populated by such titles as Confessions of a Womanizer and Piranha 3DD. With addiction battles and an appearance on Celebrity Rehab already under his belt, Busey’s addition will no doubt make for some colourful dinner conversation.

Steph and Dom Parker

Everyone’s favourite Gogglebox posh toffs could be swapping sofas… The pair’s boozy banter has made them fan favourites on the Channel 4 show but could they soon be bringing their antics to the CBB house? The professional couch potoatoes were reportedly asked to jump across to the Channel 5 series last year and have remained near the top of producers’ “wish lists” ever since. Endless booze but no telly – can the plummy pairing be tempted…?

White Dee

Another Channel 4 favourite – White Dee – is reportedly being courted by CBB bosses. She may be new to the spotlight, but the mother of two and matriarch of the Benefit Street documentaries is a rumoured target thanks to her outspoken opinions and sharp tongue. But the 42-year-old mother of two has made no secret of the fact she still claims benefits – will she risk her publicly-funded lifestyle for the sake of a quick buck courtesy of Channel 5?

Conchita Wurst

Early rumours had Conchita Wurst as a strong contender to pack her bags for the CBB house. The Eurovision Song Contest’s bearded lady – real name Thomas Neuwirth – dazzled European voters with her Bond-flavoured Rise Like a Phoenix earlier this year. And Conchita is no stranger to reality shows – she had her own in her native Austria before making her UK TV debut on The Graham Norton Show. But having remained near the top of the CBB odds for a good long while, she’s since shot down any speculation, telling the Guardian, “No! No, that’s a total rumour.”

Josie Cunningham

Remember this charmer? The lady who spoke about aborting her own baby just to appear on Big Brother. At the time she caused a media furore, so much so that she’s now being linked to the celebrity version. Oh, world – what’s happened to you? Here’s to hoping that the fame-hungry 23-year-old – who famously declared “an abortion will further my career” – is blocked by Big Brother selectors once again. It’ll give her extra time to focus on Pull the Pig – her dating website for “achievable looking women” (yes, you read that right…)

Helen Flanagan

The ex-Corrie actress is no stranger to reality telly – who could forget the endless hours of weeping endured on 2012’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! She’s periodically linked to the CBB house but has so far avoided another stint in front of the cameras, albeit a less bug-infested ordeal. Can she be tempted? You never know – although a guest spot on Holby City and the opening of numerous envelopes might just get in her way this time around…

Scarlett Moffatt and George Gilbey

This year’s rumour mill comes courtesy of Gogglebox with another two stars tipped to enter the house this summer. Unemployed graduate Scarlett and electrician George could spark romance under the CBB roof as she’s already admitted to the pair’s “sexy Skype sessions”. George has even been spied in the company of a Big Brother producer chatting transport options (ooh-er) while Scarlett best be hoping her gushing about “class” CBB gets her the gig. Could this finally be our chance to get the Gogglebox stars on Gogglebox?

Kieran Hayler

You’d think we’d had our fill of Katie Price’s soapy private life, but no. It sounds like we could have got plenty more gory details if her cheating hubby Kieran Hayler had accepted his spot on the CBB sofa. “Kieran was offered Big Brother but he turned it down,” Price revealed on her FuBar Radio show. “He’s not into that.” Plus, he’s got a baby on the way and wouldn’t want to incur any more of his wife’s wrath. “We had a s*** time last year, because he spent most of his time in a 50-year-old’s f***y… hopefully he’ll be around more this time.” She has such a way with words.

Stephanie Pratt

The Pratt family are no strangers to CBB after Hills stars Spencer and Heidi graced the bright lights of Elstree back in 2013. Now his sister Stephanie is rumoured to be one of the house’s new inmates when the celeb-packed version returns this summer. Ms Pratt has plenty of experience living her life out on camera, also appearing in The Hills before pounding the streets of London as the girlfriend of Spencer and then Stevie on Made in Chelsea. Time will tell whether she can deliver as memorable a CBB performance as her vociferous sibling…

Lauren Goodger

Reality show veteran Lauren made her name on The Only Way is Essex before appearing on Dancing on Ice, albeit briefly before she way given the boot (or should we say skate?) in the second round. In the past she’s slammed rumours of a trip to the house but her tune has mysteriously changed. Writing in her new! magazine column, the Essex native cryptically acknowledged, “I haven’t officially been approached but [CBB] is something I’d love to do. I didn’t get to show off my personality when I did Dancing on Ice, so I think people would finally get to know the real me if I did go into the house.”

Lauren Socha

Former Misfits actress Lauren is making no secret of her desire for a bed in the CBB house… “I would love to go on big brother hahaha!!!” she tweeted last year. Sadly no place materialised… until now with Socha firmly in the mix to break bread with fellow ‘celebs’. Rewind back to 2011 and the 24-year-old had landed a Bafta for best supporting actress for her role as Kelly in the E4 supernatural hit – but a four-month suspended sentence in 2012 followed by her (unrelated) Misfits departure after series three have done little for her acting career. Does a stint in front of the cameras beckon?

Michael Le Vell

Is Coronation Street star Michael Le Vell set to reveal all about his annus horribilis? The actor, who was acquitted of child sex offences earlier this year, is said to be in “advanced talks” to spill the beans to his fellow housemates (and the viewing public) when CBB returns next month. According to “sources”, Big Brother bosses were desperate to secure his co-star Bill Roache (who plays the Street’s stalwart Ken Barlow) for a Corrie double act but failed to convince the veteran to appear. However, Le Vell has a spot of time to kill having taken a league of absence from the soap to deal with drug and alcohol issues…

James Arthur

For all the masses desperately hoping there is a spot in the CBB house for James Arthur, the good news is they want your man. The bad news? He’s having none of it. The 2012 X Factor winner has poo-pooed any speculation he’ll be taking his place in the pad. Responding to reports in the Daily Star, the singer tweeted: “Rule me out of that I am not doing CBB. I’m a bit fan but I have turned down an offer from them.” It’s looking pretty Impossible right now (geddit?), but here’s to hoping the crooner changes his mind..
