Tina Fey set to star in new bewitching Disney project

Sorry, witches are involved, but this doesn't look like the long-anticpated Hocus Pocus sequel

Tina Fey could soon be returning to Disney studios to produce and star in an untitled witch project. But don’t think this is the sequel to Hocus Pocus you’ve been wanting since childhood… because apparently it’s not.

Rumours circulated that the 30 Rock Star would be producing a sequel to the 1993 Disney film starring Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker, but studio insiders are stressing that this isn’t the case.

The project is still in early developments, but the film is aiming for a Ghostbusters tone, The Hollywood Reporter says. Fey will be producing alongside Allison Shearmur, who is also working on a live action version of Cinderella for the studio.

Fey, best known for her starring role in US TV comedy 30 Rock, recently starred in Disney’s Muppet Most Wanted, which was released this year.
