There are big surprises at the Queen Vic next week when Mick (Danny Dyer) reveals his birthday present for Linda (Kellie Bright) – yes, it’s soldier son Lee (Danny-Boy Hatchard), who’s back from Afghanistan.
But the Carters soon get more than they bargained for when Mick, at the end of one particular day, overhears Lee drunkenly mumbling about having done something stupid connected to the late Lucy Beale.
The next day, Mick and Linda worry about Lee when he is nowhere to be found following the previous night’s revelation. He eventually returns to the pub and tells them the truth about the evening Lucy was murdered, which shocks them all.
Exact details of what Lee has to say are being kept under wraps, but Linda is especially concerned about her son’s confession. “She is worried for Lee and how it’s going to look for him. And she doesn’t think he should go to the police either,” says Kellie Bright.
But the actress who plays the Carter clan’s matriarch still doesn’t believe that a member of her family is guilty of murdering Ian Beale’s daughter. “I would be shocked and really surprised if it was one of the Carters,” she adds.
