New Star Wars VII cast gets Lego makeover

Daisy Ridley, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson and more of JJ Abrams's cast get turned into toys

The Star Wars VII cast photo, which rocked the movie world with its confirmation that original cast members Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher were re-uniting, has been given a Lego makeover.

Of course, the original stars – along with C-3PO, Chewbacca and R2-D2 – have done the merchandise thing before. Bedding, cups, pillows…

But, judging by the excitement of new cast member Daisy Ridley (of Channel 4’s Youngers fame), its the first time the new Star Wars characters, along with director JJ Abrams, have been represented in toy form.

A Lego Andy Serkis (of Lord of the Rings fame) is there, glasses on, intently looking at a script. As is Ridley having a chat with Fisher, a Lego version of her tank top/necklace combo perfectly achieved.

Harry Potter alum Domhnall Gleeson is perched next to C-3PO, with his figure decked out in a matching hoodie. Inside Llewyn Davis star Oscar Isaac and Attack of the Block’s John Boyega’s perfectly coiffed hair has been captured just so. They’ve even got Girls’ Adam Driver’s pose just right – sitting forward, hands clasped.

Here’s both pictures so you can check out the details, too.

Forget the film, you’ve made it when you’re Lego, right?

Filming is currently underway at Pinewood Studios, with the film expected in cinemas next year.
