Game Of Thrones: Alfie Allen’s dad Keith could join the cast

Keith Allen has also revealed that he had deliberately failed a past audition as Alfie's on-screen father

Game of Thrones is all about family – on screen and, it appears, off it. Alfie Allen’s father, TV presenter and actor Keith Allen, has revealed that he could be joining the cast of the HBO fantasy drama.

Allen is the father of pop star daughter Lily Allen and son Alfie, who plays the role of Theon Greyjoy (or Reek, if you’re up to date) in the show. Speaking of the mooted role, Keith said that he has gone for the part of a slave who leads a rebellion “like Spartacus”.

“Every scene is a bloodbath,” he said. “Frankly I think I’m cut out for that.”

Allen also revealed to The Times that he had previously auditioned for the role of Theon’s on-screen father, Balon Greyjoy, in the show, but deliberately failed the audition as it was “a bit cheesy, a bit obvious.”

Keith Allen’s claim follows on from a story in which Lily Allen said she was offered a role as Theon’s sister but turned it down because of the storyline’s elements of incest. Lily’s claim was later rubbished by her brother, though, with him saying, “Gemma Whelan was always their first choice for the part. She’s fantastic. That’s the only thing I’m going to say about that.”

Game Of Thrones series four concludes this Monday on Sky Atlantic.
