World Cup 2014 football: Brazil v Croatia (Group A), 7pm ITV (kick-off 9pm)

After months of build-up, miles of column inches and more tedious international friendlies than we care to remember, it’s time to get properly excited. Brazil 2014 is here.

ITV get the first shot away in the perennial battle of the broadcasters, with live coverage of the first game between Brazil v Croatia and the Opening Ceremony. Coverage starts at 7pm on ITV, with the match itself kicking off at 9pm.

ITV’s main commentator Clive Tyldesley will be in Sao Paulo to open the show, so it’s only right we give him the chance to raise the curtain on Radio Times’s summer of World Cup coverage. Read his exclusive preview to tonight’s game here.

Check back every day for daily previews of the biggest matches and to find out when every game is on TV, including England’s first game against Italy live on BBC1 on Saturday.
