Gothic horror series Penny Dreadful has been renewed for a second season just three episodes into its bloody first run.
The series from Skyfall writer John Logan is a co-production from US network Showtime, and Sky in the UK, and boasts a big-name cast from both sides of the Atlantic, including Josh Hartnett, Eva Green, Timothy Dalton, Billie Piper, Harry Treadaway and Simon Russell Beale.
Bringing together characters from classic tales like Frankenstein, Dracula and Dorian Gray, it spins a gory, steamy and often foul-mouthed web of supernatural intrigue in Victorian London.
Series two will be extended from eight episodes to ten and is set to go into production in Dublin this year for a 2015 launch.
Penny Dreadful continues on Tuesdays at 9pm on Sky Atlantic
