Jim Broadbent was on the red carpet at last night’s Bafta TV Awards – representing nominated drama The Great Train Robbery – but the Oscar-winning actor is already looking ahead to his next role… Winston Churchill.
The 64-year-old confirmed he was in talks to play the former British Prime Minister, although he added that the rumoured eight-part BBC series was still a long way off.
In the meantime, any fans after their Broadbent fix can catch him in upcoming rom-com Brooklyn which co-stars Julie Walters, Saiorse Ronan and Star Wars and Frank actor Domhnall Gleeson. “You can’t move for seeing Domhnall,” said Broadbent. “It’s great, he deserves it.”
