City officials have revealed that shooting for Terminator 5 will begin this weekend on the West Bank Expressway in New Orleans.
It’s rumoured that there will be a high speed car chase that will result in a simulated car crash, near the Terry Parkway exit of the highway.
The new Terminator flick will star action hero Arnold Schwarzenegger, Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke, and Doctor Who actor Matt Smith – who has recently been cast in a major role, hoped to be a Terminator cyborg.
This is not the only movie currently shooting in New Orleans; the city will be overrun with big productions in the coming months, including Jurassic World, starring Chris Pratt (Her) and Jake Johnson (New Girl), plus American Ultra, starring Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network) and Kristen Stewart (Twilight).
Other film shoots coming up in Louisiana include Don’t Mess with Texas, starring Sofía Vergara (Modern Family and Reese Witherspoon (Walk the Line) and Pitch Perfect 2, starring Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games), Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect) and Brittany Snow (Hairspray).
Alan Taylor will direct Terminator 5 this weekend. The movie is planned as the first part of a trilogy and is set for release on July 1, 2015.
