Before they were famous the duo starred opposite David Tennant in an adaptation of Jane Austen's beloved novel - set to be repeated next Monday on Radio 4 Extra

Fancy listening to Benedict Cumberbatch’s dulcet tones this rainy Thursday afternoon? Silly question, of course you do…

Why don’t we accomodate you? Dating back to 2003, here’s a clip of the actor long before his Sherlock days, providing the voice for Jane Austen’s dashing gentleman Edmund Bertram opposite Felicity Jones’s Fanny Price.

The pair are joined by David Tennant (pre-Doctor Who fame) in the Radio 4 adaptation of Austen’s beloved novel, first published in 1814. Also featuring Tim Piggott-Smith (The Bletchley Circle) and Julia McKenzie (Miss Marple), the ten-part drama is scheduled to air on Radio 4 Extra from Monday 12 May to mark Mansfield Park’s 200th anniversary.
