Ben-Hur – 1:20pm, Channel 5

102 Dalmatians – 1:25pm, BBC1

Glenn Close returns as puppy pincher-turned-animal rescue activist Cruella De Vil but it doesn’t take long before the “cutesy wootsie puppies” find themselves in jeopardy once again as Gérard Depardieu’s outrageous designer is called upon to make a dalmatian overcoat. It’s up to Ioan Gruffudd and Alice Evans to stop them…

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban – 3:00pm, ITV

No. 3 in the Potter franchise takes a darker turn as Gravity director Alfonso Cuarón brings Gary Oldman’s escaped convict Sirius Black to the fore. Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson lead a star-studded cast as dementors circle Hogwarts and Harry begins his third year facing threats on all fronts.

WALL-E – 7:30pm, BBC3

Robot WALL-E (Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-class) is programmed to compress litter by the human race who abandoned the planet centuries earlier. His lonely existence is interrupted when probe-droid EVE pays a visit to earth, bringing the hope that Earth could be populated once again. From the Oscar-winning writer/director of Finding Nemo, this loveable animated sci-fi comedy starring Sigourney Weaver is vintage Pixar.

Shaun of the Dead – 9:00pm, ITV2

Simon Pegg stars as the titular slacker in this riotously funny zombie horror spoof set in north London. If you enjoyed Pegg and director Edgar Wright’s cult Channel 4 hit Spaced, kick back and enjoy as they assemble a stellar British cast – Bill Nighy, Penelope Wilton, Nick Frost, Lucy Davis – to fight off the marauding hordes of the undead.

The Inbetweeners Movie – 9:00pm, Film4

E4’s cult sixth-form sitcom’s first feature-length excursion (a second is currently in the works) sees the return of Will, Jay, Neil and Simon as they holiday in the Greek party capital of Malia where their bid to satisfy their teenage hormones plays out against the hedonistic backdrop of sun, booze and bars.
