Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt to film on Australia’s east coast this week

The A-list duo have arrived in the stunning Whitsundays, where Jolie will continue filming Unbroken

Angelina Jolie has arrived in the Queensland’s Whitsundays with her entourage, which includes 130 cast and crew members, plus her partner Brad Pitt.


Locals from the stunning coastal town, which sits next to a collection of lush islands, are excited to have a Hollywood feature being filmed on their shores. The production will bring an estimated $1million into the local economy.

The Unbroken cast and crew have also shot at Camden and Menangle in New South Wales, and Cleveland in Queensland.

The movie follows a runner who survives a plane crash, After landing in the Pacific Ocean in World War Two, he is captured by the Japanese forces.

Brit Jack O’Connell (This is England, Skins) will play the lead role of athlete Louis Zamperini, while  American Garrett Hedlund (Tron, On the Road) will star as Commander John Fitzgerald. Meanwhile, Domnhall Gleeson (True Grit, About Time) will play the pilot and 1st Lt Russell Allen Phillips, while Luke Treadaway (Clash of the Titans) will also appear in the movie.
