Five must see moments from the Grammys 2014

From Taylor Swift's mistake to Yoko Ono's dancing, Pharrell Williams's hat to Beyonce and Jay-Z's super-sexy opener - the moments not to miss when the Grammys airs tonight on 4Music

While all of us here in the UK were fast asleep last night, the biggest stars of music descended on the Staples Center in Los Angeles for the 56th Grammy Awards. Luckily for us, no outrageous performance or over-sequined gown will go unviewed as 4Music will be replaying the ceremony tonight at 9pm.

Daft Punk, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, and Lorde all walked away with the night’s top gongs, but it was the little moments in between that kept the show going. From typical Taylor Swift awkwardness to sky-high headwear, here are the moments you won’t want to miss as you watch the star-studded event.

Taylor Swift thinking she won Album of the Year

If there were a Grammy Award for most cringe-inducing moment of the night, Taylor Swift would have gone home a winner. For about a quarter of a second, the country sweetheart thought she won Album of the Year. Here’s how it happened: As Alicia Keys announced that Daft Punk’s “Random Access Memories” album had triumphed, Swift and her team thought Keys had said “Red,” the name of Swift’s album. After realizing her mistake, Swift quickly switched from shocked face to slightly-confused-but-still-happy face as she gave a standing ovation for Daft Punk. Sorry Taylor, maybe next year.

34 couples getting married during Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ performance of Same Love

White dress? Check. Bouquet? Check. Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, Mary Lambert, Madonna and Queen Latifah serenading as you exchange vows? Check! During a medley performance of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’s hit Same Love, Queen Latifah officiated the wedding of 34 couples that were present at the awards show. A mixture of same-sex and heterosexual couples, the simultaneous weddings were meant to match the message of the song.

Yoko Ono dancing along to Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr’s performance of Queenie Eye

At 80 years old, Yoko Ono proved she’s still got it. During McCartney and Starr’s performance, keep your eye out for Yoko rocking out in the crowd. Sean Lennon – Yoko and John Lennon’s only son – can be spotted swaying along right next to his mom. Here’s hoping we all have the moves Yoko has at her age.

Pharrell Williams’s hat

If I were sitting behind Pharrell Williams at the Grammys, I would not have been very happy. The singer-rapper-producer showed up on the red carpet wearing a ridiculously oversized brown fedora, which we wore on stage as he joined Daft Punk for their performance of award-winning single Get Lucky. Pharrell was named Producer of the Year at the Grammys, but it’s his comical headgear that had everyone talking last night.

Beyonce and Jay-Z’s super-sexy opener

There’s no way you’ll miss this performance, but make sure you tune in at 9pm prompt to see the power couple take the stage in all their glory. Singing her new single Drunk in Love, Beyonce rocked a black leather ensemble that left little to the imagination. When Jay-Z came out to deliver his rap, booty-shaking and hair-whipping reached a whole new level. Let’s hope Blue Ivy wasn’t watching back home.
