What’s better than one Oscar nominated actor doing a bit of an on air prank? Why two of course.
Jonah Hill returned to host US chat show Saturday Night Live for the third time. Fresh from the success of The Wolf of Wall Street and another Academy Award nomination, the actor was having a bit of fun.
After various audience members interrupted his opening speech to ask him questions about working with fellow The Wolf of Wall Street star DiCaprio, Hill stopped to put the record straight.
“He’s a terrific guy, you know, he’s still learning. His hair’s kind of like mine, maybe a bit worse…
“You wanna know the truth? Leo wasn’t even supposed to be in the movie. I call up Martin Scorsese. I say, ‘Marty it’s JH, I’m ready to get in the ring together’ and he says, ‘Finally’, and I say, ‘Shall we get DiCaprio on board’, and he says, ‘I don’t know if he can handle it… sure he’s a movie star and puts teenage girls’ in seats, but we need a real actor like you.’” Hill jokes.
Then, as if by Hollywood magic, DiCaprio (who is up for Best Actor at this year’s Oscars) appears on set to have a word with the actor about getting a bit too big for his boots. And what’s going to calm Hill down? The Titanic pose of course…
