Former TOWIE star Amy Childs, Olympic gold-medalist Sir Steve Redgrave and a host of other celebrities have thrown themselves into winter sports training, all to take part in Channel 4’s latest reality show The Jump.
The celebrity contestants are to undertake a whole host of wintry events, including speed skiing, slalom and skeleton across the ten-night challenge. Those stars who find themselves in the bottom two must then face off in a live ski jump. The celebrity who jumps the furthest is through to the next part of the contest.
Quite literally, this is no small thing. The highest jump stands at an eye-watering 40 metres. Plus, some of the celebs, including Amy and 5ive’s Ritchie Neville, have never put their feet in a pair of skis before.
So how did a trip to the top of the jump go down? Well, there were cameras ready and waiting to catch every whimper…
Back in training, the celebs certainly seem to be throwing themselves into the action…
Former cricketer Darren Gough can’t stop laughing as he gets his head around some of the skiing challenges:
Ex-Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt gets speed up on the rink… before rather stylishly losing control:
And TV presenter Melinda Messenger shows what happens when you haven’t quite learnt how to stop…
The Jump runs for ten nights from Sunday 26 January on Channel 4 and is hosted by Davina McCall and Alex Brooker
