For the Love of Dogs scoops the award for best Factual Entertainment at this year's National Television Awards

Paul O’Grady will be celebrating tonight after his show For The Love of Dogs was awarded best Factual Entertainment programme at the National Television Awards 2014.

In a varied category that saw soggy bottoms take on roaring engines, viewers opted to crown the cute puppies their factual entertainment champion.

Paul O’Grady has enjoyed enormous success with his recent canine-loving series, and paid tribute to “the real stars of the show,” the dogs!

“I didn’t know we were the first award!” he said on accepting the award from Sam Bailey.

Paul O’Grady: For The Love of Dogs beat An Idiot Abroad, The Great British Bake Off and Top Gear for the win.
