The Wolf of Wall Street’s Margot Robbie: “I tried to cover my mum’s eyes during the nude scenes”

The former Neighbours actress stars as Naomi Lapaglia opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in Martin Scorsese's vice-fuelled marathon based on the memoirs of Jordan Belfort

Margot Robbie’s Hollywood career is off to a flying start. Following on from a bit part in Richard Curtis’s About Time, she’s starring opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street, directed by none other Martin Scorsese. In her words, a “dream job”. No kidding.

But with the glamorous part of Naomi Lapaglia, the leggy wife of DiCaprio’s character Jordan Belfort, came a string of racy scenes – were there any cringeworthy moments that left their mark on her memory? “The bits we cut out were particularly awkward and embarrassing to film,” Robbie told, “but you guys will never see that so it doesn’t matter.”

The 23-year-old former Neighbours actress also revealed recently that she’d fibbed to her family about the amount of nudity present in Scorese’s hedonistic retelling of the raucous days of 1990s Wall Street. Now the film has been unveiled to audiences nationwide, there’s nowhere to hide… “My mum saw it – she came to the premiere so I was sitting next to her. I actually tried to cover her eyes when the nude bits happened but she pushed my hand away.”
