Jumeirah Lowndes, London – hotel review

If it a luxurious London retreat you require, the Jumeirah Lowndes should be very close to the top of your list

A rare gem in the heart of Belgravia, this hotel combines effortless luxury with incredible location in stunning style.

Oozing modern boutique elegance at every turn, the beautiful hotel is set amongst some of the most exclusive addresses in the capital, and is within walking distance of Harvey Nichols and Harrods – making for a great location from which to explore the most opulent areas of London.

Despite being so central, the hotel’s position on a quiet square makes it a calm and relaxing place to stay.

Friendly and helpful staff is order of the day in this hotel that deserves every one of the five stars in its status.  The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated to make you feel like you’re at a home away home. And with high-end bed linens and all the modern conveniences you would expect from a hotel of this standard – you will certainly not be disappointed.

Each of the 87 rooms also has a large and luxurious bathroom where you can take a soak after a hard days shopping.

Hotel guests enjoy the added benefit of use of the swimming pool, spa and gym facilities of the Carlton Tower, located less than a minute across the square.  Here you can keep fit, take a dip, practice your golf swing on an indoor simulator – or simply relax in the spa, all with views of London from the ninth floor of the hotel.

Yes, if it a luxurious London retreat you require – the Jumeirah Lowndes should be very close to the top of your list.

Food and Drink: The Lowndes Bar and Kitchen is a relaxed venue at the heart of the hotel which offers a modern British menu throughout the day.

The extremely attentive staff will help you get the best from your experience, whether that’s a cocktail and nibbles at the bar, or a three course meal with paired wines over several hours. Offering a very good selection of fresh seafood and well-sourced meats, the restaurant offers a fine-dining experience without pretension.

In the morning the restaurant serves a selection of cooked to order favourites, from eggs Benedict to made-to-measure omelettes, bringing a bespoke feel to the start of your day.  Lunch and high tea are given similarly care and attention by head chef Martin Gabler, who it is clear has put real effort into making dining an event during your stay.

During the spring and summer, The Terrace restaurant also offers an al-fresco dining experience.
