Veep actor Reid Scott and Hangover star Ken Jeong will voice characters in the TV spin-off of 2013's box office hit

It’s nearly school holiday time and parents across the country are no doubt quaking in their boots at the prospect of entertaining the kiddies over Christmas. Enter Netflix with their first original children’s series, launching just in time on 24 December.

Turbo Fast revisits the lives of Turbo, Whiplash, Burn, Smoove Move, White Shadow, Skidmark and Chet who earned themselves a legion of fans across the globe after their appearance in 2013’s Dreamworks hit Turbo. Following the antics of the eponymous Turbo (voiced by Veep actor Reid Scott), Netflix’s spin-off TV series sees the 2D characters go on daring new adventures, race on the coolest tracks and take on more crazy challengers.

Adult viewers may also recognise the voice of Ken Jeong – best known for playing Leslie Chow in The Hangover trilogy – who is reprising his role from the Turbo film as manicurist turned home shopping icon, Kim Ly.

The first five episodes of Turbo Fast will drop across all Netflix territories at 12:01am on 24 December – perfect timing for entertaining the youngsters in the Christmas build-up – with additional instalments set to premiere throughout the year.
