British singer/songwriter Rita Ora is set to swap the stage for the movie set, and song lyrics for lines, in the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey film.
Twenty-three-year-old Ora, who burst onto the music scene in 2011 with hit single Hot Right Now, has been cast in the much-anticipated adaptation of EL James’ naughty novel, alongside leads Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson.
Ora will play Mia, the younger adopted sister of the S&M loving millionaire Christian Grey.
She announced the news herself on Twitter last night, saying:
The Albanian-born singer, who has previously starred in The Brief, Spivs and Fast and Furious 6, will join Luke Grimes, Victor Rasuk, Max Martini, Eloise Mumford and Jennifer Ehle in the erotic adaptation.
Fifty Shades of Grey follows the increasingly x-rated bedroom exploits of millionaire Christian Grey and innocent college graduate Anastasia Steele.
Filming for the movie, which is directed by Sam Taylor-Wood, produced by Dana Brunetti and adapted by Kelly Marcel, started on 1 December. The film is expected to hit cinemas in February 2015.
