Joey Branning (David Witts) is to confront Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) about the circumstances surrounding Michael Moon’s murder.
In dramatic scenes to be shown on Monday 16 December, Joey – who is now convinced that incarcerated sister Alice couldn’t possibly have committed the crime – accuses Janine in front of the Queen Vic’s regulars:
“I wonder what everyone in here would think if they knew what really happened that night, eh?” seethes Joey.
David Wicks (Michael French) is quick to step in and help Janine by dragging Joey outside and laying into him about how much he’s acting like his late father Derek.
But Joey will not be calmed: “You really think that Janine’s a victim in all this, don’t you David. Can’t you see what’s in front of your eyes? She killed Michael!” he yells.
Joey then enlightens David about what he believes happened on that fateful evening and swears that he won’t rest until everyone knows the truth. But will David be persuaded by Joey’s argument?
