Coronation Street producer Stuart Blackburn has revealed what lies in store for mechanic Kevin Webster when he returns to Weatherfield next year.
“At the point when Kevin was forced to leave for Germany, he was actually looking to get back together with Sally. So when he returns, it’s to a very different world in Coronation Street. He comes back to find Sally’s relationship with Tim, while his daughter Sophie’s world will have changed as well, and in Sally’s eyes, not necessarily for the better,” he said today.
Actor Michael Le Vell, who was cleared of sex charges back in September, has not been seen on screen since February 2013 – the absence of his character Kevin explained by ex-wife Sally (Sally Dynevor), who revealed that he’d left for Germany to look after his sick father Bill who had suffered a heart attack.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, producer Blackburn added: “We’re just delighted to have Michael back with us, and we’re hoping he’ll be back on screen in March/April.”
