Following on from yesterday’s first look at Peter Dinklage in X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer has revealed a shot of Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique kicking some guy in the throat.
The image, tweeted yesterday, is one of many teased by the director, whose sequel to 2011’s X-Men: First Class will reunite the younger incarnations of the mutants featured in that film with those from 2000’s X-Men series.
Lawrence’s character, a shape-shifting mutant, was last seen joining Magneto’s newly formed brotherhood, suggesting she may be using that leg for evil ends in this shot…
X-Men: Day’s of Future Past, which is set in two timelines, is said to take place ten years after X-Men: First Class and ten years after 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand. The crossover means that it will feature two sets of Professor Xs and Magnetos – the Patrick Stewart-plus-Ian McKellen vintage, and the James McAvoy-plus-Michael Fassbender models introduced in First Class. Speaking to Empire, Singer said of the latter set: “They’re in a radically different place. Charles is in a very dark hole when we meet him, and Erik has been gathering his power.”
X-Men: Days of Future Past opens in the UK on 22 May 2014.
