The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is to be released as an extended edition DVD with extras including a peek at some deleted scenes.
Imagine how long the films would be if all of these had made it in.
Ahead of the DVD, we’ve got a sneak peek at one of the deleted scenes, which stars Sherlock star Martin Freeman as hobbit Bilbo Baggins.
Struggling to cope with the quest to help the dwarves recover their gold, Bilbo is comforted by Elrond (Hugo Weaving), the elf lord. Elrond attempts to comfort Bilbo, but simply explains his two options, leaving Bilbo still searching for the right answer (note: the video takes a few seconds to start).
Alongside the deleted scenes there’s interviews, commentary and more, adding up to a whopping nine hours of additional footage from the New Zealand-based filming.
The new extended DVD will be released for digital download on October 22 and available to buy on Blu-ray and DVD on November 4.
The second instalment of the Hobbit films, The Desolation of Smaug, lands in cinemas on December 13.
