EastEnders spoilers: Whitney is contacted by former abuser Tony – first look pictures

Old sores look set to be reopened in next week's episodes


Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) is to receive a shock in next week’s episodes when she receives a letter from her former abuser, Tony.


Back in 2009, Tony (played at the time by Chris Coghill) was sent down for 13 years after Whitney – at the culmination of a long-running storyline – testified against him in court. But in scenes to be shown on Thursday 25 July, an eccentric looking stranger will turn up in the Square to deliver the letter to Whitney. But when she tells him that she isn’t interested, the man ends up following her around. Eventually, in a bid to get him off her back, Whitney takes the letter, which she’s disturbed to discover contains the message: “Dearest Whit, I always loved you, T x”.


Despite fiancé Tyler’s (Tony Discipline) assurances that Tony isn’t going to be coming out of prison anytime soon, Whitney isn’t comforted by Tyler’s words. When she gets home, Whitney decides to call the prison to apply for a prison visiting order. But a trip to the jail brings with it more shocks…
