Last night’s interview stage of The Apprentice saw baking-mad Luisa Zissman and junior doctor Leah Totton each land a place in the final.
Jordan I-don’t-actually-own-the-idea-I’m-selling Poulton crashed and burned after literally being asked to leave the interview by Sugar’s aide Claude Littner, while Francesca MacDuff-Varley was told her business plan was good, but that she didn’t have enough spark to take it to the big leagues.
A tearful Neil Clough got probably the nicest firing in The Apprentice history, being told he was the “right man, without a plan”. Sugar even referred to the keen businessman as “my friend”, telling Clough he was gutted his online estate agency plan wasn’t very good. If he was offering a job, Sugar said, Clough would have got it, but an investment wasn’t coming his way.
So, that leaves Luisa and Leah to thrash it out in the final task, which sees the return of all of this year’s candidates.
We’re of course ecstatic that this means Jason Leech will be back (although slightly worried for him as he gets plonked on Luisa’s team) as well as Alex Mills and those eyebrows.
Leah is working to show Lord Sugar that her cosmetic surgery business is where the money is for him, while Luisa’s hoping her baking wholesaler-come-retailer plan is the icing on Sugar’s already large cake.
Before Lord Sugar makes his decision, we want to know who you’d hire…
