Danny Dyer is joining the cast of Hollyoaks Later as a ruthless ex-pat known as ‘The White Man’.
Hard man Dyer, the star of such movies as Mean Machine, Human Traffic and The Business, is being lined up to add a touch of menace to the five-part series that will also see the return of former Hollyoaks stars Jeremy Edwards, James Redmond and John Pickard.
Set to air on E4 in autumn 2013, the plot of the latest series of the late-night spin-off will find show stalwart Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) agree to undertake a dodgy deal for Trevor Royle (Greg Wood) only to fall foul of The White Man.
When the deal goes awry, a nightmare ensues as Tony – along with mates Finn (James Redmond) and Dom (John Pickard) – gets caught up in a world of high-stakes poker, Russian roulette and kidnapping, with Dyer’s character playing a ruthless adversary.
Jane Steventon, producer of Hollyoaks Later, said of Dyer’s appointment: “I’m thrilled that we have brought together such an amazing cast for this year’s Later and with the addition of Danny Dyer, the adventures can really kick off.”
