The latest adaptation of Alexandre Dumas classic The Three Musketeers is still a long way off, coming to BBC1 some time in 2014, but with filming under way, we’ve been given a first glimpse of D’Artagnan and musketeers Athos, Aramis and Porthos.
Skins star Luke Pasqualino takes centre stage as aspiring young swordsman D’Artagnan, with his three friends, played by Tom Burke, Santiago Cabrera and Howard Charles look brooding in the snow behind him.
Adrian Hodges, who created the ten-part series, said: “The four actors look brilliant together and it seems like they have been working together for years. The camaraderie between them makes each action-packed scene exciting and authentic, and the image we have released today really encapsulates that.
The Musketeers also stars Peter Capaldi, Tamla Kari, Maimie McCoy and Hugo Speer.
