Lord Sugar announces air date for The Apprentice

The self-made millionaire is poised to start firing and hiring from Tuesday 7 May

Cue the dramatic music. TV’s big and scary boss Alan Sugar has announced a return date for The Apprentice.

The longest and most challenging televised interview, where a group of irritating big-shot wannabes battle it out to get a job with Lord Sugar himself, is back on BBC1 on Tuesday 7 May.

Star of the show Lord Sugar took to Twitter to share the good news himself:

Each year The Apprentice sees the business boss interview a number of budding entrepreneurs, unceremoniously firing them one by one until he hires his new protege at the end of the series. Last year saw 26-year-old recruitment consultant Ricky Martin take home the coveted role.
