Big screen superhero sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past is currently in production, and last night its director Bryan Singer tweeted the first picture of Halle Berry in character as Storm.
Continuing a trend established in previous X-Men films, Storm’s hair is going to be shorter than ever in the new movie.
But Berry’s barnet isn’t the only thing that’s been cut – by the looks of things, someone’s been slashing away at the film’s costume budget too.
I’m sure they’ll jazz it up with some CGI in post-production but, c’mon, Halle’s outfit in Days of Future Past looks like it’s come straight out of a box from Toys R Us. The ‘wings’ are especially hilarious:
Sartorial criticisms aside, it’s worth noting that Days of Future Past will feature an all-star cast in addition to Berry including Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Ian McKellan and Hugh Jackman.
Plot-wise, the film features the X-Men travelling back in time to alter a historical event that could have enormous consequences for humans and mutants alike.
Marvel fans have got quite a while to wait until they can see the film however, as it’s not due to be released until July 2014.
