Twilight’s Robert Pattinson to reunite with Cosmopolis director for Maps to the Stars

Heartthrob will act alongside Julianne Moore and John Cusack in the critique of Hollywood culture

Robert Pattinson is set to reunite with his Cosmopolis director David Cronenberg for a new film titled Maps to the Stars.

But Twilight fans missing their annual Edward Cullen fix will be disappointed. The film, which is also set to star Julianne Moore, John Cusack and Sarah Gadon, is less Hollywood blockbuster and more a critique of celebrity culture and LA society. It’s been descibed as a sort of ghost story following former child stars. (So definitely no vampires or werewolves…)

Pattinson starred in Cronenberg’s 2012 film Cosmopolis alongside Paul Giamatti, Juliette Binoche and Samantha Morton. The 24-year-old star played billionaire Eric Packer in the film, which follows a day in the life of Packer as his fortune and his life crumbles around him.

This second collaboration with indie filmmaker marks a movement away from the comercially successful Twilight franhise that made Pattinson a big name in film.

Maps to the Stars is expected to start filming in July.
